I am SO excited for you to see this beautiful boho backyard wedding, complete with our barefoot bride! An hour or so north of Lancaster, PA, Joanna and Frankie tied the knot on Jo's family property in Telford, and it was one of the most beautiful, relaxed, and truly joyful days I've experienced this summer.

I was recently telling one of my couples how I just adore elopements, but equally love a big, fun, party wedding. And it's hard to market to those two categories at the same time! But as I was saying that, I reminded myself that it truly comes down to the CLIENTS. My ideal wedding isn't about the location or the guest size, but is truly about the couple I'm working with. A couple that is relaxed about their day, intentional about the way they're doing it and doing it the way that THEY want to do it, and that they're just so stoked to be getting married. Whether its cliff side in Yosemite, or on their family property with 200 guests, as long as I'm working with my kinda people, then it's an ideal wedding for me. And Jo + Frankie we're exactly my kinda people.

But Joanna + Frankie’s day starts way before June 16th. These two are just incredible humans, with the biggest hearts for each other, and serving others. I remember when they first inquired with me and we chatted on the phone, I ended the call being in awe of how unique they were, and how I still barely knew them but knew that they were perfect for each other.

To scratch the surface, Jo and her mom started, and still run, an organization Haiti, and to help pay for her trips down there in the beginning, she also started a photography business! Meanwhile, Frankie studied exercise science in school, but is currently rocking his own entrepreneurial venture with a business in woodworking + creating custom fishing lures. Jo is also a pediatric nurse, and they’re planning to start travel nursing for the first few years of their marriage so they can live in all the cool places. GOALSSSS!

I have to start telling you about their wedding day though or else we’re gonna be here all day. These guys got married on Jo’s family property, which is also where her parents and siblings have gotten married. One of my favorite moments of the day was when her and I were walking down to her first look, and she said how as a little girl, she had always imagined this moment and this day happening on this land and how surreal it was that it was actually about to happen.

Their ceremony was filled with so much love, music from family, prayers from parents, the planting of a tree, and so much more. Dinner was all sorts of catered + ethnic deliciousness including a Pad Thai that I’d literally eat everyday. We had the most epic golden hour for their portraits, and Jo was adamant about getting in the creek behind the property for a few of the photos which you know I was down for ;)

The whole day was so relaxed, never stressful or rushed, both Jo + Frankie had beaming smiles on their faces all day. The community that came around them to celebrate so clearly loved them and showered them with all the support on their day.  Thank you Jo + Frankie for inviting me into this special day, and for allowing me to be a part of your story! I can't wait to see what adventures you get into next!
