A half day sunrise elopement in Acadia National Park is great for those who want shorter and more simple adventures. Hannah and Melina reached out knowing they didn’t want a massive hike, or coverage of anything more complicated than a vow ceremony with family and some fun photos at scenic spots around Acadia.
If you feel like you land somewhere in this range of activities, here is how we planned their day:
HANNAH & MELINA’S 6 HOUR ACADIA ELOPEMENT TIMELINE:
06:00 - 8:00: Meet at South Bubble Rock parking area for short hike and sunrise portraits
08:00 - 9:00: Head to Boulder Beach for more exploring
09:00 - 10:15: Meet family at Otter Point for ceremony; vows, rings and family portraits
10:15 - 12:00: Sand Beach swim and picnic
Bubble Rock Sunrise Hike
We started their day by meeting at the Bubble Rock trailhead. This is one of my favorite easy access locations in Acadia because the views are great and it’s an easy walk. At sunrise, we were the only ones there. The fall colors were just starting to pop through this misty morning, and it was a great spot for these two to have some breakfast and goof around together.
Family Ceremony at Otter Point
Our next location was at Otter Point. This is possibly the best location for a family ceremony in the park, since it’s got ample parking with no hiking necessary. Here, they read vows and exchanged rings before grouping up for family photos by the sea.
Water Photos and Picnic
To end their 6 hour half day elopement in Acadia National Park, they wanted to get in the water. Something they told me early on was how much they love the water, and how important it is to them. They live near water and you’ll often find them swimming and kayaking.
On this day though, the ocean currents were pretty rough, so they settled with reading letters in the sand and a relaxing picnic. Hannah LOVES white powdered donuts, so of course they had a bag of those to enjoy as well.
Then, we decided to head up to a lake within the park to really enjoy the water. It was cold, but obviously they didn’t let it bother them much.
Through their whole elopement day, these two focused on having a relaxed time, incorporating what they loved, and above all: having fun together.
