Nate + Sarah’s sunrise elopement in Acadia National Park this autumn was a day filled with the best things in life.  Fun, love, national parks, cute towns, chai tea lattes and so much more.

These two weren’t sure where they wanted to elope at first, but after some deliberation, landed on Acadia since it was just a few hours from their home, and they wanted to invite their immediate families and grandparents for the ceremony! They wanted to have their ceremony as the sun rose over the coast of Maine, which is actually the first place that the sun rises in the US!

We met up in the parking lot when it was still dark out, and were met with a drizzly day, but these two didn’t let that effect them one bit! We hiked down a little trail to the spot where they had their ceremony, and they began their ceremony! The sun peaked out of the clouds just a little as it rose, but it was still really special as the sky got lighter and lighter as they said their sweet vows to each other.

After their ceremony, we headed back up to the parking lot area where they set up a little brunch picnic for themselves and their family. Sarah’s sister made the most beautiful + delicious cake, they had some fruit, coffee, and gorgeous little pieces of decor. So simple, yet so special! They shared some coffee and cake with their family, took a few family portraits, and then we separated ways!

Nate, Sarah and I went off to explore the park a bit and I took them to a few of my favorite places for some portraits and we popped some champagne - cause did you really get married if you didn’t pop champagne? We were supposed to go on a sailing cruise around the islands, but unfortunately with the weather, they decided to cancel that. So instead, we explore the park a bit more, and then headed into Bar Harbor for a trolley tour!

As we were heading into Bar Harbor, I mentioned that my love for Chai Tea Lattes started at the Jordan Pond house that we were passing, because they have the BEST chai tea. Turns out Sarah also loves chai tea, so we made a spontaneous detour to get some at Jordan Pond House. Turns out they were closed - DUMB, so we continued our way to Bar Harbor to hop on a trolley tour and ended up getting them some chai at a coffee shop in downtown Bar Harbor!

The trolley tour was a fun way for them to learn about the city and the park that was now a special place to them! It was just about 30 minutes long, so afterwards we headed to a place that was supposedly known for their Bloody Marys to get some nachos and tomato juice!

I love how Nate + Sarah just embraced their elopement day. We made the most of it and ended up with a fun adventure, gorgeous portraits, a meaningful + intimate ceremony, and so much more.
