Jeep Adventure Elopement in Sedona Arizona

Courtney & Casey’s Sedona Elopement Photography included a little bit of everything, from lighting a lantern to a beautiful song written by Casey. They made the most of it by choosing to have a Jeep Adventure Elopement in Arizona.

Sedona, a small desert town near Flagstaff, Arizona, is the perfect spot for an elopement if you’re looking to balance adventure with relaxation. Courtney & Casey came for its famed red rock formations and stayed to make the most of the quirky town and impressive scenery. As for their incredible Sedona Elopement Photography? Despite a slow start due to some unexpected traffic, it was endlessly beautiful and filled with intentional personal touches.

Initially, Courtney & Casey hoped to elope to Northern Arizona, but due to Covid-19, a lot of locations were closed. As it turned out, Sedona was the perfect alternative location! We decided to head to an amazing trail that we knew would have incredible views, stopping along the way to make the most of the desert vibes and amazing cacti. No matter where you plan to elope, whether it be the Arizona desert or the endless mountain ranges of Colorado, I think one of the best pieces of advice I can give is to be open to change. See how the day unfolds and don’t be afraid to stop along the way!

Courtney & Casey were so relaxed, despite spending the first hour of their morning stuck in unexpected traffic, and it was because of their easygoing nature that we were able to take the most beautiful first look images at a completely random spot!

Jeep Adventure Elopement in Arizona

Courtney & Casey discovered a truly beautiful trail for their wedding ceremony, albeit somewhat tricky to get to. The options for arriving at the top were either a full-day hike (in 106-degree weather!) or to hire a professional Jeep driver. Of course, they went with the professional Jeep driver. Jeeps add a wonderful extra element of adventure to the day, while also allowing the freedom to stop and start, pausing to make time for all the best views. It’s especially fun when you have a professional driver so you can just sit back and enjoy the ride.

As we reached the trailhead, we realized we’d really lucked out – despite being a popular spot for Sedona Jeep adventures, we had it all to ourselves. It made for such an intimate celebration, with Courtney walking down the ‘aisle’ to a song written and recorded by Casey.

Another great advantage of a Jeep Adventure Elopement in Arizona, or anywhere else, is that it gives you freedom to linger in the beautiful places you stumble upon without any hurry. Because we didn’t have to hike down, Courtney & Casey were able to hang out at the top of the trail until the sun had set, taking in this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Including Kids in Your Elopement

I’ve spoken about this before, but one of the harder parts of eloping can be knowing how to best include family and friends. In Courtney & Casey’s case, this was especially important because they both have kids! In fact, it was their kids who introduced them after they became best friends in Kindergarten. While the kids couldn’t be there to celebrate, they made sure to FaceTime them. And the boys who were kindergarten besties? The pair couldn’t be more excited to now officially be brothers!

How to Include Lanterns in Your Elopement, Responsibly

Perhaps one of the things I love most about elopements is the chance to include what’s truly important to you. There’s no pressure from anyone else to hold onto traditions just because, and you’re able to decide with your love what really matters. For Courtney & Casey, this meant lanterns! Casey proposed with 40 lanterns lit around a lake, and so they hold a special place. Of course, in Sedona there’s a high fire risk, but that’s okay! We decided to do a lantern lighting ceremony, without actually releasing it. It was a beautiful moment, and the perfect way to end their incredible Jeep Adventure Elopement in Arizona.
