Meet Your North Cascades Elopement Photographer
Iβve felt at home in the outdoors for as long as I can remember. Over time, I realized the moments I feel most alive are when Iβm on top of mountains, beside wild oceans or deep in nature - and itβs even heightened when shared with others! Creating experiences where couples can feel empowered, present, and the most alive on such a meaningful day in their lives is what I live for! Itβs exactly what has led me to becoming a North Cascades elopement photographer.
I work with couples who value experiences over expectations and who want to feel present, connected, and fully themselves in a place that inspires them. As your photographer, Iβm not just documenting your day - Iβm helping you create it, from location ideas to timeline planning and everything in between.
My passion is to guide you into having a day that is intentional and shaped around what matters most to you, and to create photos that bring you right back to it, every time you look at them.
How to Elope in the North Cascades
Eloping in the North Cascades can feel really overwhelming at first, especially if youβve never been there! However, when you break it down step-by-step, and work with a North Cascades elopement photographer that is an expert in these things, I promise it will become fun, stressless and pain free quickly!
Step One: Book Your North Cascades Elopement Photographer
You might think this is too early in our steps, but I promise you, hiring your North Cascades elopement photographer as one of the first things you do, is the way to go! From that point on, youβll have a handβs on resource that can help you with the rest of these steps with knowledge, insight and expertise from planning + photographing hundreds of experiences just like yours.
Step Two: Choose Your Locations & Activities
As a North Cascades elopement photographer, helping couples choose locations + activities for their elopement that are aligned with them is a huge part of my process. Weβll consider factors like type of scenery, level of accessibility, time of year, time of day, level of privacy and more when deciding the locations and activities you want to include as part of your elopement. One important thing to consider for the North Cascades, is if youβd prefer to be on the North Cascades National Park side, or the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest Side. Both are incredible, and good for their own reasons! If youβre undecided here, this will be one of the first things we chat through, as it will determine where you should stay, locations we ant to consider, and a lot more!
Step Three: Create Timeline & Apply for Special Use Permit (if needed)
Once we have a good idea of the details and pace of your elopement, Iβll create a customized timeline that outlines our plan for the day, so that we have a general idea of where we want to be and when. The beauty of elopements is that this is flexible, loose, and always has the ability to change.
Step Four: Book Your Other Vendors + Travel Accommodations
Now that we have an idea of where weβll youβll be, what youβll be doing, and when youβll be there, itβs time to lock in the rest of the plan! Book your other vendors such as hair + make up, florists, private chefs, or an officiant (or I can officiant for you!) as well as an cozy place to stay at the end of the day!
Just like that, youβre on your way to having an incredible elopement experience in the North Cascades! If youβre ready to start the process, give me a shout and letβs start planning your North Cascades elopement day! Or, continue on reading for some more resources.

North Cascades Elopement FAQ
-
The North Cascades are stunning year-round, but the experience varies with the seasons. July, August + September is ideal for hiking, wildflowers, and clear skies. Generally, August is my favorite time for elopements in the North Cascades. October is perfect for golden colors, though some roads may close early. Winter offers a quiet, snowy wonderland for adventurous couples prepared for cold conditions. Iβm happy to help you choose the timing that best fits your dream day and scenery!
-
It depends! Some areas within North Cascades National Park and surrounding public lands require a special use permit. Rules can vary depending on the exact location, number of people, and whether youβre on a trail or in a backcountry area. I guide couples through this process so you can focus on your adventure, not the paperwork!
-
The North Cascades are known for unpredictable weather, from sudden showers to clouds rolling in - which can actually create even more epic photos! Weβll plan for these scenarios with flexible timelines and backup locations. Rain often makes the landscape even more magical, with lush greens and dramatic skies. The great thing about the North Cascades is that there are still incredible locations, even if itβs a little wet!
-
Where you should stay largely depends on where you plan on spending the day! If youβre interested in the North Cascades National Park region of the mountain range, youβll want to stay along the North Cascades Highway, maybe in Concrete or Rockport. If you plan on being in the Mt. Baker - Snoqualmie National Forest area, youβll want to stay in that region, in areas like Maple Falls or Glacier, WA. The National Park and the national forest are about 2.5-3 hours apart, so youβll want to be based closer than not to your main area, to maximize your day!
-
Both are stunning, and both are great for different reasons! The North Cascades National Park is great if you want longer day hikes. This region is filled with epic hikes in the 5-10 mile range and is perfect for couples who want to spend their day on the trail. The National Forest side has a bit more to offer that is easily accessible, so I generally recommend that area if family will be involved. Maple Falls + Glacier, WA have a lot more accommodation offerings compared to the national park side, so itβs great for this reason too. This is a conversation worth having with your photographer so that they can guide you to the best area for what youβre envisioning!

The North Cascades are a popular destination, especially in peak summer months. I recommend booking 6β12 months in advance to secure your preferred date, and give us ample time to plan activities and locations. However, Iβve helped couples plan their North Cascades elopements in as far out as 18 months and as soon as 1 week out - so anything is possible!
