Cliffside Elopement in Acadia National Park
If you’ve ever dreamed of exchanging vows with the ocean stretching endlessly below you, a crisp breeze in the air, and fiery fall foliage surrounding you, this cliffside elopement in Acadia National Park is the kind of day that brings that vision to life.
Mandy and Neal’s October elopement was the perfect blend of intimacy, family, and celebration. From a quiet waterfront start to golden sunset portraits along the coast, their day felt aligned and intentional as they embraced the wild beauty of Acadia.
First Look in Hulls Cove
The day began at their cozy Airbnb in Hulls Cove, perched right along the water. It was a beautiful and grounded way to start the day along the water.
Mandy and Neal got ready separately, soaking in those last quiet moments before seeing each other. Once they were both ready, we walked down the steps for their first look along the shoreline.
A Meaningful Chinese Tea Ceremony
Before heading into the park, Mandy and Neal shared a Chinese tea ceremony with their parents, which was a beautiful way to honor Mandy’s heritage and family.
There’s something so special about weaving meaningful traditions into an elopement day. It creates space for connection, gratitude, and presence. This moment grounded the day even more, bringing everyone together before the adventure truly began!
Private Cliffside Vows in Acadia
After their time with family, the three of us made our way into Acadia National Park.
October in Acadia is pure magic - vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows lining the rugged coastline, with that crisp fall air that makes everything feel a little more alive!
We found a quiet stretch of cliffs overlooking the ocean where Mandy and Neal shared their private vows. This is one of the most powerful parts of an elopement day - creating space for moments that are just yours. It was the perfect way to begin their time in the park, and was quickly followed by their ceremony with their family.
A Cliffside Ceremony with Family
After their private vows, we met back up with their parents, their son, and their officiant for their ceremony - also set along the cliffs!
The contrast of the expansive ocean views with the intimacy of their small group made the moment feel incredibly special.
Their son added such a playful, lighthearted energy to the ceremony, reminding everyone what the day was really about: love, connection, and family.
Post Elopement Ceremony Champagne Toast
Following the ceremony and a few family photos, we headed to a nearby picnic area to celebrate.
They popped champagne, shared laughs with their family, and let their son run around and play in the colorful fall foliage.
These in-between moments, the unplanned, joy-filled ones, are often the most meaningful. No timeline pressure, no strict structure. Just space to be together.
Cliffside Sunset at Otter Point
To close out the day, the three of us made our way to Otter Point for sunset.
The light softened into that dreamy golden glow, casting everything in warm tones as the waves crashed against the rocky shoreline.
Mandy and Neal explored the coastline together, soaking in those final moments of their elopement day as the sun dipped below the horizon.
