Schoodic Point Elopement in Acadia National Park

If you’ve ever dreamed of saying your vows with the ocean stretching out endlessly before you, a Schoodic Point elopement might be exactly what you’re looking for. That’s exactly what Mollie and Evan did when they reached out to me less than two weeks before their trip to Acadia National Park!! Even with such short notice, we were able to plan a beautiful and fun day that perfectly captured their adventurous spirits! They were down to go with the flow, which helped them make the best of this last minute elopement to Schoodic Point!

Eloping on Schoodic Point

We began the day on the quieter side of Acadia, at Schoodic Point. This part of the park is known for its dramatic rocky coastline and crashing waves. It’s a favorite of mine for couples who want something breathtaking but more private than the busier Mount Desert Island spots.

Vows at Schoodic Point

We wandered along the granite rocks for portraits, with the ocean behind them, before heading to a tucked-away spot by the cliffs where Mollie and Evan shared their private vows. We had the spot all to ourselves which made it all the more peaceful and special.

A Picnic by Monument Cove

Afterwards, we drove over to Mount Desert Island to continue the celebration. Mollie and Evan had planned a private picnic overlooking Monument Cove, one of the park’s most iconic viewpoints. They had some yummy bowls from Thrive (a health food place in Bar Harbor with delicious options for these two vegans!) and enjoyed the view of Acadia!

Sunset on Cadillac Mountain

We ended the day at Cadillac Mountain, which is always a favorite for sunset! Watching Mollie and Evan together on the mountain top, taking in the surrounding mountain and ocean views, was the perfect finale to their elopement day! And proof that you can pull off an incredibly special elopement in just a few weeks!

Why Choose a Schoodic Point Elopement

Schoodic Point is a hidden gem within Acadia National Park, offering rugged beauty and a sense of solitude you won’t find in the busier areas. Pairing a Schoodic Point elopement with some of Acadia’s iconic Mount Desert Island spots, like Cadillac Mountain, allows you to experience the best of both worlds! Both quiet intimacy and epic scenery.

If you’re planning your own elopement in Acadia and want a day with fewer crowds but just as epic views, Schoodic Point might be the perfect fit. Whether you’re dreaming of cliffside vows, a simple picnic with a view, or a sunset hike, there are endless ways to make your day amazing.
