Bryce Canyon Sunrise Elopement

Mindy and Jules had the dreamiest sunrise elopement in Bryce Canyon. There’s something completely magical about watching the world wake up as light starts to hit the bright orange rock formations of Bryce Canyon. Get inspired by this stunning elopement complete with a Bryce Canyon sunrise, ceremony by the hoodoo’s, post elopement picnic in a field, ending with a Bryce Canyon hike. A classic Utah elopement day that was such a joy to be a part of!

Sunrise Over Bryce Canyon

The way the light kisses the tops of the hoodoos, turning them from dusky pink to blazing orange - what a way to start the day! That’s exactly how Mindy and Jules wanted to begin their elopement day: wrapped in the stillness of morning, high above the amphitheater, just the two of them (and a few layers and hand warmers to keep warm). March mornings in Bryce are cold, and this one was no exception. You could see their breath in the air—but, their joy too! They had a first look and then exchanged gifts to start the day off!

Elopement Photos at Bryce Canyon

As the canyon lit up, we started walking along the rim trail, taking in all of the epic views! It felt like we had the entire world to ourselves. Bryce Canyon is a special place to the two of them as it’s where they got engaged, so it only made sense to come back for their elopement! We had so much fun taking their elopement portraits along the rim of Bryce Canyon, dancing, laughing, shaking up those hand warmers and snuggling in blankets.

Elopement Ceremony by Bryce Canyon Hoodoos

Once we were done exploring the rim of Bryce Canyon and taking in everything sunrise had to offer, we made our way to a beautiful stretch of BLM land just outside the park. There, Mindy and Jules were joined by a handful of their closest people for a sweet, intimate ceremony surrounded by desert sage and red rock views. Their pastor from all the way back home in Ohio married them, they exchanged vows and rings, and shared a unity ceremony - it was perfect!

Elopement Picnic with String Quartet

After the ceremony, they celebrated with a luxury picnic crafted by Make A Scene—complete with cozy blankets, a beautiful tablescape, and even a live string quartet. Yes, a quartet in the desert!! It was one of those “is this real life?” moments that I’ll never forget. Music floated through the air as everyone sipped mimosas, enjoyed the delicious breakfast, and took in the beautiful views!

Bryce Canyon Elopement Hike

To cap off the day, we laced up our boots (or their converse!) one more time and headed out for a short hike among the lesser-known hoodoos just outside the park boundary. We had the entire trail to ourselves and got to explore all sorts of cool rock formations. It couldn’t have been a better spot to end the day.

Mindy and Jules’ elopement was a reminder of how freeing it is to craft a day that’s fully your own. You don’t have to follow any rules—just follow your heart, the sunrise, and maybe a trail or two. The theme of this day truly was JOY. So much joy, happiness and love radiated from these two that it was hard not to have a permanent smile on your face.
