Destination Wedding in Acadia National Park
Destination Wedding in Acadia National Park
There’s something magical about vows shared while surrounded by the rugged coastline and mossy forests of Maine, and that’s exactly what Kate and Steven did for their destination wedding in Acadia National Park. In late September, they celebrated their story over two unforgettable days with their closest family and the backdrop of the one and only Acadia!
A Sunrise Adventure Along Ocean Path
Kate, Steven, and their kids began their celebration with a private morning adventure. We met just before sunrise along Ocean Path, where the shoreline just started to glow with that morning golden hour light! The four of them explored tide pools, found lobster claws, wandered along rocky beaches, and took in the quiet morning on the coast. It was the perfect way to start their destination wedding in Acadia National Park!
A Forest Picnic and Hidden Beach Stroll
After exploring the coast, we ventured into the forest for a cozy picnic surrounded by fall foliage. The crisp September air and warm sunlight made it feel extra cozy and special! After some donuts and hot chocolate, we stopped at a hidden beach spot where the four of them could enjoy the rocks, water, and the playful energy of their kids. These early moments to their two day destination wedding were all about connection, nature, and soaking in everything Acadia has to offer.
Sunset Boat Cruise with Family
Later that day, Kate and Steven’s closest family joined them at the Claremont Hotel for a sunset boat cruise with Jericho MDI around the island. The golden sunset light reflected off the water as everyone toasted, shared memories, and enjoyed drinks together. With the island’s coastline as a backdrop, the cruise was a perfect mix of adventure and an intimate celebration. It was an unforgettable highlight of their destination wedding in Acadia National Park!
Ceremony at Otter Cliffs
Day two was the heart of their destination wedding in Acadia. We met along Park Loop Road and walked with their family to their ceremony location at Otter Cliffs. Surrounded by dramatic cliffs and the sound of the ocean below, Kate’s best friend officiated their intimate ceremony. With their closest family witnessing, they exchanged vows, sealed them with a kiss, and celebrated with a champagne toast afterwards! Oh and did you notice Kate’s bouquet? It’s a collection of dried roses from the weekly bouquet of roses Steven gives her - how sweet and special is that!!
Sunset Portrait Hike
After the ceremony, the three of us took advantage of the soft evening light for a sunset hike and portraits. Being up on a mountain with lakes and trees as far as the eye can see, it was the perfect backdrop to show off Acadia’s beauty. These portraits were a beautiful way to end their destination wedding in Acadia National Park, wrapping up the memories of a truly magical two day celebration.
Acadia Destination Weddings
Kate and Steven’s elopement was a perfect blend of adventure, family, and intentional moments. From sunrise explorations to sunset celebrations, every moment was thoughtfully crafted to celebrate love amidst the stunning natural beauty of Acadia. An experience none of us will forget!
